John Taylor’s career has been an impressive evolution that began in Texas and led him here, to his home in Windsor. His residential real estate career began a little over 6 years ago but his experience in business and the knowledge he has gained from his journey, offer him a unique perspective and opportunity to help others. From commercial real estate to a background in Fortune 500 banking and even owning an energy land company, John Taylor has reinvented himself and succeeded in multiple pursuits throughout his career. His favorite part of being involved in real estate is being able to witness helping people achieve their goals. “Having done a lot of things, one thing I really love about real estate is you can see the tangible benefits of helping people and you can see first-hand how you have made a difference in someone’s life and you can see that everywhere you go.” shared John.
John has always been driven to succeed. Starting from a young age, he was able to witness his father’s evolution in becoming a successful business leader and building a solid reputation on his word. Through that relationship with his father, he learned the value of mentorship, having a trusted council, and what being honorable and decent meant to him. He witnessed how his father’s example helped others and he is proud to have received his father's name. The wisdom his father shared with him, on standing by your word and letting your name carry the weight of your character, has become a north star in John’s life, along with the simple advice, do what you say you are going to do.
Finding a happy work-life balance and experiences has been a large part of his story. John loves to travel and appreciates the differences in the little things which complements his interest in architecture and landscapes. He has a passion and keen eye for photography and loves to capture moments from his travels, which you can see from the numerous photos in this article. He enjoys taking in different places and cultures and all that can be learned from the world. John and his significant other Kim love mixing adventure and history into their travels, helping them gain different perspectives from across the globe.
Aside from experiencing different cultures and landscapes, John prides himself on being a good role model and providing mentorship to all he surrounds himself with. Mentorship is a large part of who John is; he has surrounded himself with people he considers mentors and friends with a deep desire to share his gift of wisdom and knowledge with others. Excited to give back to his boutique team at Taylor Home Partners and mentor other young people to help them be successful is something that fills his cup and gives him a great sense of joy. “Your goal as a mentor is to try and help people gain clarity, to give them insight by sharing. So, I like to give people the benefit of my insight as to what my truth has been and how I’ve gotten here, the mistakes I have made, and what has worked for me” shares John. Carrying on his father’s legacy, John is leaving his footprint in the hearts and minds of the community through genuine interactions and authentic kindness. He is at a place in his life where he doesn't feel like he has anything left to prove but he does feel like he still has a lot to give.
