Easy Rider For The Family

E-Bike Makes Strolling With the Whole Crew A More Pleasant Affair

Lori Logan’s legs were tired. A long-time cyclist, she was commuting on her bike to her job in Denver from her home in Highlands Ranch. Upon arrival downtown, she needed a shower and a change of clothes. Her ride home after a full day of work was exhausting. She considered the question, how do I continue to bike downtown without all the inconvenience? Enter Voltaire Cycles, an electric mobility shop opened by Lori and her husband Todd in Highlands Ranch in February.

E-bikes are swiftly gaining attention and popularity. Nationally, sales have increased significantly year after year, making it the fastest growing segment in bike sales. Once thought to be only for older cyclists or those with limited mobility, people of all ages are now buying e-bikes.  Much like Lori, younger riders want them for commuting and running errands. The extra boost an e-bike provides after a long ride or weighed down with cargo offers an eco-friendly and healthy mode of transportation.

The abundant trails in Highlands Ranch are ideal for e-bikes. Here, Gordon (2) and Sully (1) ride behind Mackenzie on the Yuba Spicy Curry V3 Cargo bike, outfitted with the hold-on bar, monkey bars, mini seat, sideboards and Yelp Toddler seat. Other accessory options include a bread basket, bags and even a rain cover for passengers. Retail price as pictured is $5,350.

Lori tells us, “With the long-tail frame you can take up to three little ones for an entire day of adventure. With an available range of 30-60 miles, depending on level assist, know that when it is time to head home you have a little bit of boost to get up those hills to end a day of fun on a good note. Smiles for all!”
