"We're an inspiration and we make great creations." When Char'Les was 4, she dreamed of a business creating things she loves: Treats. Now age 10, along with her sister Zyaire, age 12, the Highlands Ranch sisters run Little Sistas Treats. Their signature treats are one-of-a-kind cheesecake cones layered with other sweets, and are sold at pop-up events, festivals, and pre-orders
The sisters love working together. Char’Les says “It’s actually pretty fun. Honestly there are a few things we don’t always see eye to eye on, but that’s why we continue to have new ideas. We work together really well because we’re both creative”
Zyaire adds “I bring the confidence. I’m not afraid to get customers in our line…I’m also the visionary and I’m always thinking of new ways to make our business better.”
In August, you’ll find Little Sista’s Treats at the First Friday Jazz Fest on 25th and Welton. They’ll also host a back to school event. Find out more at littlesistastreats.com
One of the biggest surprises of the last decade was the return of the scrunchie as an accessory trend. 80s fashionistas who embraced, then suddenly rejected the trend did not understand how much better scrunchies are for hair, as traditional hair bands cause breakage.
Good thing Addyson Malach and best buddy Avery Young re-embraced the trend. Misster Scrunchie was born out of a 6th grade shark tank school project. Students conceptualized a business and created a product. The friends decided the idea was strong enough to bring to market.
Don’t be fooled by the age of the founders or the product they make, they are savvy social media creators and business managers. Misster Scrunchie has one to two product launches a month. They hand make just enough inventory for their forecasted sales per launch and don’t keep back stock of most items. This allows them to adjust to quickly to changes in trends, seasonal color preferences, etc. Once a product in a launch is sold out, it is gone. They even offer subscription boxes.
In addition to scrunchies, Misster Scrunchie sells large barrettes, banana clips and athletic hair ties. Find them @missterscrunchie on Instagram
