Parker Looks Forward in 2021

Our Community Partners share their goals and plans for the new year

Resiliency

/rəˈzilyəns/

noun: resiliency

  1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness

  2. the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

It’s no news that last year’s economic downturn heavily affected small businesses. At Parker Lifestyle, we like to think of our community partners as the pulse of what we do-- without them, we wouldn’t exist. We are so proud of the resiliency they have exhibited throughout the recent challenges.

Our town is strong, and the ability to look forward to 2021 with resolve, goals, and hope is a courageous task. To celebrate that bravery and inspire our readers to dream big, here are some of our community partners' goals, resolutions, and business plans for the upcoming year.

“At the beginning of each year, I search for a word that inspires me and helps me focus on my business and personal goals. My word for 2021 is "flourish." As a creative person, I am always looking for new and exciting ways to serve my community and clients, while growing my craft and passion for portrait photography.”

Jolie Rodriguez is a visual storyteller, helping individuals and families create beautiful and unique portraits to remember their life journey. She specializes in Family and High School Senior Portraits.

The Exercise Coach

Personal Goal: Explore the Parker area more once we are post-pandemic!

Business Goal: Reach people in the Parker community who have fitness needs and/or challenges and let them know that there is a solution available to them.

2021 Business Updates: “Our business is about helping everyone with their fitness goals. It’s easier to show you how we change the paradigm around fitness and exercise, so we are offering 2 free sessions to everyone who wants to experience the difference for themselves."

Dr. Lindsay Mamula

Veterinary Center of Parker

Goal: Dr. Lindsay’s personal goal is to increase awareness on pet nutrition and the important role it plays in the overall health of the animal. As a business at large, the Veterinary Center of Parker wants to focus on creating a bigger community impact by increasing volunteering, participation in community events, as well as focusing on client education.

New Business Information: The Veterinary Center of Parker now has five doctors who work together in order to create an empowering environment where pet owners can be a part of their pet’s health journey. They listen to pet owners and work with their specific needs. In addition, they love preventative care.

In 2021, they are offering brand new wellness plans that bundle preventative care into existing packages. They now make it easier for pet parents to manage by offering monthly payments. In addition, comprehensive nutrition consultations are newly available where pet owners get to work with Dr. Lindsay, a certified veterinary food therapist (CVFT), to create customized nutrition and supplements plans for their pets.

Parker Chamber of Commerce

In the words of Henry Ford, “whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” As the Chamber of our community, our goal is to come together and support each other in business and as neighbors. It is a year for fresh starts, and we can begin with the will to overcome the past with a mindset to succeed. The mission for the Chamber next year…to support our members so they can reach their goals in 2021!”

2021 Goal: Reward. Retain. Compete.

“We want to reward employees for the hard work they have put in during COVID and retain them. We compete with large chain pet stores, and our goal for 2021 is to focus on their strengths and combat them.”

Shawn Stephens

Mint Health Clinics Lone Tree

"Well, 2020 is a wrap. What a year. We've all been saddened, enraged, disappointed, confused, scared, anxious, you name it. And 2021 will undoubtedly present more challenges and changes that we can't foresee. Yet, there is still so much to be grateful for. Expressing gratitude can give you a boost when you need it most. We are grateful we were able to open our doors seven months ago. We are grateful for our amazing members. We are grateful for the kindness and selflessness and sacrifice of frontline and essential workers. We are grateful for so much more but there's only so much room here. Let's start 2021 on a positive note...what are you grateful for?"

I love quotes and one I am always most fond of that points me in the right direction at the start of a new year is, "Keep good company, read good books, love good things, and cultivate soul and body as faithfully as you can." -  Louisa May Alcott
