A Valentine's Day Special Treat

A Simple Fun Way to Celebrate With Your Sweetheart

If you're looking for a fun and different way to celebrate Valentine's Day with your sweetheart, cheese fondue for dinner and chocolate fondue is the way to go. Each recipe is very simple and easy to put together that will make your dinner and dessert fun to make and enjoy.  

Cheddar and Swiss Cheese Fondue

1 Cup of grated Swiss Cheese

1 Cup of grated Cheddar Cheese

1 Tbsp of flour ( use gluten free flour if desired)

1 tsp of dry mustard

1 tsp of garlic powder

1/2 to 3/4 Cup of  your desired beer 

Cracked pepper to taste

Dippers- Any number of these dippers will be a great compliment to your cheese fondue. Swap out your favorite vegetable or add your own dipper, either way dipping in the fondue will make you be asking for more.

Carrots

French bread baguette sliced into 1 inch squares

Cauliflower

Broccoli

Meat- Grilled steak, Grilled chicken, battered chicken pieces, seafood

Pour your desired beer into your fondue pot and let it get warm to a very light simmer. 

In a small bowl toss the Swiss cheese and cheddar cheese with the flour until coated.  

Add the garlic powder, pepper and dry mustard to warm beer.

Once the beer is warmed, begin adding in the cheese a tablespoon at a time stirring constantly with a rubber spatula. Continue to stir in all of the cheese until melted into a thick cheese sauce consistency.  

Server right away with your favorite dippers

Chocolate Raspberry Fondue 

For dessert satisfy your sweet tooth with a chocolate raspberry liquor fondue

4 Ounces of milk chocolate - chopped into small pieces

6 Ounces of dark chocolate- chopped into small pieces

1/2 - 3/4 Cup of Half and Half or heavy whipping cream

 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract

3 -4 Tbsp of raspberry liquor or your choice of liquor

Dippers- Your options are limitless. Almost anything tastes amazing dipped in chocolate!

Strawberries

Oranges

 Bananas

Raspberries

Blackberries

Graham Crackers

Marshmallows

Pretzels

Angel Food Cake

In your fondue pot warm the half and half or heavy whipping cream until it slightly simmers.

Add the chopped chocolate, a tablespoon at a time stirring continually with a rubber spatula until chocolate is melted. 

Once the chocolate is melted add your desired liquor and vanilla continuing to stir until the mixture forms a runny syrup consistency.

Serve immediately with your favorite dessert dippers.
