I've never been the type to workout at home. I thrive on the social aspect of a group fitness class and excitement of the other fitness enthusiasts. Truth be told, I also feel like I work out harder when I'm in front of others..

As someone who finds her motivation from being around other people at the gym or fitness class, I never considered myself a work out at home type of person. While we all figure out our new pandemic related routines, it's becoming more and more apparent that working out at home is here to stay.

The hardest part for me has been to actually stick to a schedule. Without the fear of being late to a busy class- motivation expectations are at an all time low. I've scoured the web and researched ways to stay motivated at home so I'm going to share those findings with you so that we can all become more accustomed to working out alone at home, together. 

Tip #1

Schedule Your Workouts & Stick To It

Add your workout to your calendar and commit. Preferably in the morning before you've started your day. The more we can set a new standard for our routine, the easier it will become. 

Tip #2

Be Nice To Yourself

Don't set a crazy goal that may be unattainable. If every day feels out of reach, try a small goal first like three days per week.

Tip #3 

Get Creative With Your Workout Space

We love the gym because it feels like a gym. If sprucing up your space to give it a more athletic aesthetic will help you get motivated- go for it! Shopping for home decor is fun anyway.

Tip #4

Splurge on sticking to your pre and post workout routines, even at home

Just because you're at home doesn't mean you should throw out all of your rituals and routines.Put on your favorite workout outfit and have your pre-workout snack. Afterwards, take time to stretch, mellow out and enjoy a shower. You don't feel like you have to get up right away—you're at home so you're probably not in a rush, so take your time. Breathe, relax and recover.
