Think Local

Supporting Local Keeps our Community Strong!

We, in Frederick, are well served by many wonderful restaurants and specialty shops, and other businesses owned by friends and neighbors. Business owners spend countless hours volunteering and serving on boards and committees to the betterment of Frederick and its citizens. It’s never been more vital than today, to THINK LOCAL; patronizing the shops and services that in days past, would presumably have open doors. It’s time to rally the troops and show up for the Frederick business community and thank them for being there!

Dynamic Automotive

“We choose to place our businesses within a community,” explains Dwayne Myers, President and CEO of Dynamic Automotive, which includes businesses in Frederick, Libertytown, New Market and Urbana. “We grow to become part of the community.” Along with sponsoring local baseball teams and marching bands, Dynamic Automotive offers an apprenticeship program that “sets high school students and recent graduates on the road toward becoming an auto technician. We provide a mentor, pay for their college technicians program, and upon completion, the student comes out with their certifications and college credits for all the classes,” says Dwayne. Giving back to the community is at the heart of Dynamic Automotive’s leadership. During the quarantine, they offered first responders, hospital workers and military members a free oil change. “We wanted to say thank you to the community for all the support that has been shown to us,” Dwayne says.

CEO CoSulting

Rob Nickey knows that many small business owners may need a hand or a bit of guidance to get their businesses on a firm footing or to go to the next level. With that in mind, Rob launched CEO COSULTING. Drawing from his 25 years of financial and strategic planning expertise and his passion for small business, Rob works with the client by coming alongside the leaders to help them identify the critical issues within the company. He also helps business owners become familiar with their income statements and balance sheets, enabling them to make better and more informed decisions. Rob says, “There is no one person who has all the answers. I can’t solve a business’ issues, but I can sit with leadership, decision-makers, and sometimes the staff, to collaborate on the problems at hand and help them move forward.”

Audio-Video Group

"I have been in the audio-video field for years and started my own business because I wanted to focus on relationships," says Eric Johnson, Founder and President of Audio-Video Group. "We do both large and small work. For me, if we do it right by developing the relationships, then the rest will follow," adds Eric. He and his team are genuinely part of the community. "We're continuing to help the Mental Health Coalition with donations of diapers and wipes, and are continuing to give to the Rescue Mission and Religious Coalition." Eric is a member of the Carroll Creek Rotary, and he and his wife are members of the Order of the Good Samaritan for FMH. As a corporation, Audio-Video Group is a member of the Honor Roll at FMH.

TLIC Media

For Chris Hiltz of TLIC Media, it’s more than just creating beautiful wedding videos. “It’s the connection to the day and the couple. I’m so proud that we can offer the amenities of a larger company but still provide a very personal experience,” Chris says. TLIC Media is merging with a photographic company to provide the complete experience from start to finish. He says, “This is the perfect complement to our video and production end.”  Along with growth comes challenges, but Chris says the open schedule has given him time to focus on the merger and position the company well for the soon to be busier than ever fall wedding season. “This fall will be jam-packed because everyone had to adjust their wedding dates, so there will be multiple weddings per week, but we are ready,” he adds.

Lee Building Maintenance

Just as medical workers and first responders stand on the front lines working to keep us all healthy, so do cleaning technicians. “There’s been a huge learning curve for everyone when it comes to disinfecting and staying healthy,” says Jason Lee, CEO of Lee Building Maintenance. “At this point, cleaning technicians have to be educators. We used to make sure the building was clean by appearance and sanitized. Now, that’s all changed as we understand the disinfecting process. The world is going to look at cleaning totally differently,” Jason says. He and his team have been serving the area for over 17 years and know the community well, and says, “Frederick has always been a community that could rise to the occasion.” We certainly have!

AMI Signs

“I’ve lived in Frederick for more than 20 years, and after having a career that entailed lots of travel and work around the country, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to start my own business here in Frederick,” says AMI Signs President, Nick Marchetti.

AMI Signs is more than a sign company. “We work with companies to deliver solutions to help them execute their marketing strategies and promote their businesses,” says Nick. “We like to take the extra step get to know the companies and understand their goals and the culture of the businesses we work with.”  Nick says, “Sometimes people simply need signs. However, many times a company would like to get a new logo, or they may be a new company and may not be exactly sure what they want. We’ll recommend signage and designs that fit them best and help them achieve their branding goals.”
