Colorado E Bikes

Bringing accessibility to our Backyard

It is no secret that Mesa County is widely known as a unique hub for outdoor activities of all kinds; bringing people from across the globe to our backyard to enjoy the sunshine, adventure and breathtaking views. Whether you are a visitor or a local, it doesn’t take long to realize how special the outdoor community is in Mesa County. From hiking to biking, and everything in between, our backcountry has a trail for everyone. Perfectly stated by one of the owners of Colorado E Bikes, “bicycling in our area becomes vacationing at home.”

Diane and Scott Manupella started Colorado E Bikes in 2014 in a shop in Delta, Colorado and moved to Grand Junction in 2021. While their family has long been a part of the biking community, they saw the new world of e-biking after their son was in an accident and used an e-bike as a form of physical therapy that eventually helped him to be able to ride a conventional bike again.

While these bikes serve as a great way to build strength and ability, they also make trails of all difficulty levels accessible to people of all abilities and levels of strength. Diane explained that e-bikes add so much value to the biking community because they have the ability to “level the playing field” and allow everyone to have the capacity to experience the beauty around us without fear of safety, getting worn out, or not being able to complete their ride.

As the owners of Colorado E Bikes, Scott and Diane, as well as their sons, Justin and Kyle, take a large part in the business, working with both sales and service. They also have a great bike mechanic, Jason Collier, who helps maintain and service bikes for the shop. Diane says doing this business as a family has been a huge bonding experience for them. Whether it is sharing the struggles or the celebrations, they do it together.

Their vast knowledge of biking and their love for people, makes them the perfect shop to help find the perfect bike for you and your family. Diane explained that test rides are welcomed and encouraged. At Colorado E Bikes they want to help you find your perfect bike.

However, if you’re not ready to make a purchase, they still have services and options to fit your needs. Colorado E Bikes offers rentals that include both conventional and e-bikes, as well as tricycles and tandem bicycles. There is truly something for everyone.

Whether you are an experienced rider, just starting out, recovering from an injury, or looking for a low impact way to experience the beautiful trails of Mesa County, Colorado E Bikes is there to help you reach your goals confidently.
