Impressionism Through the Eyes of Andy Szabo

Visual Artist, Designer and Illustrator explores the Depth of Emotion through Interactive Art

Andy Szabo is an artist and designer originally from Romania. His family emigrated to the US when he was seven years old, and settled in Texas. The need to communicate in an unfamiliar environment cultivated a love for visual expression. He would watch TV to learn and expand his English vocabulary. Not knowing how to speak English, the only way he could interact with other children was to draw characters from animated shows. Experiencing the effectiveness of visual communication first hand inspired Andy to pursue the development of his artistic skills.

After years of exploring many artistic styles and techniques, Andy started to focus on an impressionistic approach to his works, often passing his references through the lens of emotion, resulting in fantastical portraits and abstract works. Now, instead of exploring different artistic styles, he explores the depth of emotion, often represented by interactions between humanity and the natural and spiritual world.

Andy recently was hosted in July by Glade Gallery with an Exhibit called “Longing”.

Longing" is a conversation about all the things we longed for in 2020. A lot of it has to do with human interaction, but also exploring some broader subjects. This show includes primarily figurative paintings in which areas are partially hidden and can only be viewed with the provided blacklights.” (by Glade Gallery)

"My work today is very explorative, even though I am trying to settle on a style and medium, I am still experimenting and discovering what my artistic voice is. My fascination with story telling and creating layered narratives drive my explorations toward new techniques that combine traditional, academic styles and mediums, with new materials and technologies that have not been given a place on the fine-art stage. There are a lot of collections and experiences that are being planned out, and I can’t wait for them to come to fruition. The future for artistic expression has so many possibilities, and I am excited and honored to be a part of it". Andy Szabo

“Be Social “ is the beautiful painting illuminated under black lights featured on our Front Cover.
