Cy-Ranch Senior Named Under Armour All American

Cypress Ranch High School senior and defensive lineman Ashton Porter was nationally recognized as a 2023 Under Armour All-American. According to 247Sports.com’s composite recruiting rankings, the 6-foot-3, 255-pound Porter is currently the 56th-best prospect in Texas for the Class of 2023 and among the top 50 defensive lineman in the nation. Mustangs Head Football Coach Sean McAuliffe says “He is special and has a chance to really do some things down the road at the highest level.”

Bridgeland Runners Sweep District Cross-Country Titles

The Bridgeland High School girls’ and boys’ cross-country teams swept the District 16-6A titles at the Cross Country Championships. This is the girls’ fifth straight team championship and the boys’ fourth consecutive team title. Top Ten Girls: Emily Ellis, Haley Hill, Susana Rawls, Kaitlyn Harless, Lily Fawcett, Macie Gunn, Sofia Barreda, Rainey Johnson, Ariel Braley, Savanah Esterline. Top Ten Boys: Noah Willows, Benjamin Montgomery, Thierry Garcon, Alan Bonner, Manuel Vela, Travis Allen, Carlo Concha, Hayden Price, Josh Cremer, Kyle Pawlak.

Cy-Creek High School Welcomes Comfort Dog Cece 

CFISD welcomes its fourth dog placed into the district by Interquest C.A.R.E.S. (Comfort, Assist, Reassure, Encourage, Support), an organization that trains and provides schools with comfort dogs. Though CeCe has been on campus for only a short time, Cy-Creek Coordinating Counselor Tammy Maaz has already seen the positive impact CeCe has on students and adults alike. Calming tension, stress and anxiety, Cece is an instant ice-breaker and peace-maker welcomed in the school by everyone who meets her.

Bridgeland, Cy-Creek, Cy-Ranch Win Inaugural District Water Polo Title

Sixteen CFISD teams qualified for the inaugural UIL playoffs. Bridgeland High School won the girls’ 16-6A District championship. Cy-Ranch High School claimed the second seed, while Langham Creek High School earned third and Cy-Springs went on to finish fourth. In the boys’ championship, Cy-Ranch won the boys’ 16-6A championship with a 10-0 record in district play. Bridgeland earned the second seed. Cypress Springs and Langham Creek both finished with identical 5-5 marks in league play, with the Panthers earning the third seed and the Lobos earning the fourth seed.

Bridgeland Earns Fourth Consecutive District Team Tennis Championship 

The Bridgeland High School tennis team completed a perfect 7-0 run, clinching a league championship for the fourth consecutive year. The four championships come in the first six years since the school's opening. Cy-Ranch will advance to the postseason as the second seed in District 16-6A, followed by third seed Cy-Woods. After making its first-ever playoff berth last year, fourth-seed Cy-Lakes will make a second consecutive postseason appearance.

Langham Creek Student Participates in NASA Scholars Program 

Aadil Nathani, Langham Creek High School junior, excelled in the prestigious NASA Texas High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS), where he helped create and design a mission to the moon and Mars. Nathani qualified by nomination of a state legislator as well as the competitive selection process where he also needed an expressed interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). With this experience, I made friendships I will cherish as I hopefully meet my peers at NASA one day.” Nathani said.

Langham Creek Senior Earns Student Heroes Award for Act of Kindness

Langham Creek High School senior Nitya Kodali was recognized by the State Board of Education for the 2022 Student Heroes Award for voluntarily performing acts of kindness and displaying compassion. Kodali founded the non-profit organization, Letters & Love, after realizing there was a need in the community for outreach to healthcare workers. Since its launch, Letters & Love has grown to have global impact, and has sent more than 50,000 letters of gratitude to healthcare workers, reaching 40 counties, as well as organizing countless donation drives.
