Boyfriend blazer, double-breasted jacket, long jacket or just plain blazer. It doesn’t matter what you call it, you will find people wearing this piece everywhere. What I love about this trend is you don’t need to work in an office to wear one. They can be paired with a tee and sneakers for an amazing casual look. If you want to dress it up, pair one with slacks or a dress.
I picked out a black herringbone pattern as I felt that it would be so versatile. I paired this boyfriend blazer with my favorite cropped black denim and mules for a business casual look. By simply switching out the shoes for sneakers, I was able to make it a more casual look perfect for running around town. I’m still loving the graphic tee trend but if that’s not your thing, pair with a blouse, turtleneck or a plain white tee.
Blazers are a timeless piece so don’t be afraid to add a couple to your closet. The fact that the industry has been able to create so much variety in the pattern, fit, color and fabric of these pieces make it easy to wear them year-round. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites to wear now or later.
