Charming, bright and comfy—complete with a large wicker chair that serves as a unique photo op—is what comes to mind when entering The Lottie Coffee & Cone, a new cafe in Lake Lotowana.
“Since we opened in April 2019, we've served 1,466 vanilla bourbon lattes, 1,414 vanilla lattes, 1,283 scoops of ice cream and 883 cinnamon rolls!” says Jami Nato, who co-owns the spot with her husband Mark.

Keeping It Local
In addition to unique, decorative items to purchase, The Lottie prides itself on supporting local businesses.
They serve coffee from Oddly Correct, a conscientious roaster in Kansas City that has built sustainable relationships with farmers. When it comes to flavor, house-made syrups include vanilla and vanilla bourbon (with the alcohol cooked out), lavender vanilla, caramel and chocolate, along with a variety of creamer options such as whole cow’s milk, half and half, coconut milk, almond milk and oat milk.
The Lottie also features glass cases full of delicious pastries, cookies, muffins and cinnamon rolls from McClain’s Bakery and ice cream from Poppy’s, which includes dairy free options and gluten free toppings.
“We purposely went with local vendors to support KC businesses, as we are a small business!” Jami says.
Keeping It Kid Friendly
Customers gather each day to enjoy the free Wi-Fi, and children are welcome, with a special area created just for them that’s enhanced with a mini table, tea set, books and toys—which are washed regularly with a natural cleaner. They also have string cheese, applesauce and steamed vanilla milk with natural sprinkles and house-made syrup for the kiddos.
“We are truly a family friendly coffee shop and cater to families of all shapes and sizes,” says Jami. “Especially little ones!”
