Creating Spaces for Better Living

At Well Appointed Kitchens, Baths & Designs

Shelby Puetz shines at bringing her clients’ dreams to life. As Principal Designer/Owner for Well-Appointed Kitchens, Baths & Designs, she uses her own “ethos and intuition” to realize the best options for a client’s space.

“I love working with bathroom and kitchen remodels by keeping as much of the character of a structure as I can,” Puetz says. “Marrying in the client’s personality is what really brings a home together.”

Puetz has earned a reputation as a designer with a keen, creative eye and fresh perspective combined with extreme professionalism, personable communication, and a sterling work ethic. One year ago, she founded Well Appointed Kitchens, Baths, and Designs, but she brings more than 12 years of experience to the project and a passion for interior design that reaches back into childhood.

“In elementary school, I knew I wanted to become a designer,” Puetz says. “I would draw house plans or redesign existing ones when I saw a need for improvement or innovation.”

In college, she never strayed far from her ideals and graduated in 2007 with degrees in Arts & Design and Business Administration from Wichita State University. She interned with an award-winning designer, and after graduating she started as the lead interior designer for a restoration company, gaining experience and perspective in what it takes to successfully build a home from start to finish and delving into every aspect of the industry.

“I took these opportunities to learn and grow as a professional,” she adds. She learned to work efficiently and effectively with all levels of personnel and how to function and perform in a high- stress environment while staying self-motivated and dedicated to the client’s needs.

Beginning with an initial consultation at the clients’ home, Puetz discusses wants, needs, and desires for the space.

“I take into consideration the clients’ lifestyle, personal taste, and I really take time to absorb the character of my surroundings. Compiling this information, I create a preliminary design, which includes plans, renderings, estimates, and product suggestions. An in-home presentation follows, where product samples and refined estimates and renderings serve to immerse the client in their new prospective environment. This is the most exciting part for me, as I love to engage in the feedback process and witness their excitement over seeing their project finally come to life.”

Puetz stresses that communication is key, and the highest compliment is when clients recommend her to a family member, friend or neighbor.

“We're here for whatever you need. We'll help you solidify your bathroom and kitchen design vision and keep in constant contact until your dream is realized! From architects and builders to artists and contractors, we've got every step of the process covered.”

Design services at Well Appointed Kitchens, Baths, and Designs include both new builds and renovations, offering full-home remodeling, as well as space planning, elevations/flooring, appliances/visual rendering, kitchen/bath design, lighting, fireplaces, and surfaces/fixtures—all on-trend and stunning.

“White oak cabinetry, flooring and woodworking has exploded on the new build and remodel scene,” she notes. “Warm tones in metal finishes have also emerged such as brushed brass, champagne, and copper. Homes have moved away from the cool greys into the warm greys in recent years, and the color white is still hot in cabinetry, paint or accessories.”
