If you have fine jewelry you have inherited, or that sits hidden in your jewelry box, and find yourself in need of some extra spending money, why not turn to Diamond Banc? Diamond Banc works alongside clients and considers themselves not only buyers but advisors.

Diamond Banc's expert staff takes every value-adding factor into consideration to offer the maximum value for jewelry, luxury watches and diamonds. Having established relationships with the industry's largest diamond dealers, retailers and jewelry manufacturers enables them to offer more.

Diamond Banc locations are housed in comfortable environments, and they offer utmost transparency. The Kansas City office is located on the Country Club Plaza.

“Our interests are aligned with our clients. We work on their behalf, in a transparent manner, to yield them the most return for their item,” says Sicily Von Overfelt, GIA diamonds graduate, managing director of KC Branch. “For example, we often assist clients with larger pieces in sending the diamonds to GIA (Gemological Institute of America) to receive diamond lab reports. This in turn allows clients to see the true quality of the diamond, effectively ensuring they are fully informed. We also offer consignment and VIP Seller’s Agent Services.”

Her Journey in Jewelry

Sicily’s infatuation with jewelry actually began at an early age. At a job fair in second grade, she heard a prominent jeweler in Springfield, Mo., speak about gemology.

“I remember rummaging through the gemstones that varied greatly in color, shape and size and being in disbelief when I was allowed to touch them. I asked permission to stay at the booth for the rest of our allotted time and was one happy kid whose curiosity was piqued. I realized this gentleman got to play with precious gems all day, as well as help couples celebrate their love. Little did I know then that I had already found my calling!” she says.

Her journey in jewelry began when she worked at a jewelry store while attending Mizzou, and she has been in the jewelry industry for 12 years now. She truly enjoys helping customers with important jewelry decisions.

Her favorite part of this position is the estate jewelry, and she has helped many families sort through their inherited jewelry items to determine the value and best avenue to resell the pieces.

“I really enjoy meeting and helping people. It can be intimidating selling jewelry or getting a Jewelry Equity Loan. I like to make the process transparent and easy,” she says.

“Jewelry is such a personal item that it’s usually accompanied by a great story, which is another reason I strive to make the process easy. I’m not just buying or lending against metal and gemstones, it’s a memory.”

She also enjoys assisting customers with “upcycling” jewelry items. Her staff is often able to refinish a piece and sell it as estate. Although the market demand for certain older or outdated pieces, such as brooches, is not in high demand, Diamond Banc works with their vast networks of retail jewelers around the country to find the right market to sell such pieces.

Diamond Banc recently began purchasing designer handbags including Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Hermes, which can also be used as collateral for asset-based loans.
