Easy Broccoli Salad

Article by Andrea Larson

I've been making this easy broccoli salad recipe for many years and it's one of my husband's favorite sides! I'm not sure where it originated but I got the recipe from my own mom who has been making it for a long time.

Dry ingredients:
1 Bunch of broccoli
1 Cup cheddar cheese
1/4 Cup red onion
8 Strips crispy bacon (I always cheat and use pre-cooked bacon and heat it in the microwave)
Handful of sunflower seeds

Wet Ingredients:
1/2 Cup mayo
1/4 Cup sugar
1 Tablespoon red wine vinegar

Assemble the dry ingredients in a bowl. Chill. Mix wet ingredients and pour over dry ingredients right before serving.

This recipe has a hint of sweet with the sugar in the dressing, which in turn makes it delicious! And with all of the different colors, it looks so pretty and pleasing to the eye!

You could also add Craisins for an additional ingredient for color and texture! I make it for my family and I also make it to take to potlucks or cookouts. It's always a crowd pleaser! I hope you enjoy it! xo
