Since it was introduced in 2009, Ford’s F-150 Raptor is designed for tough off-road adventures as well as being a high-performance truck that is a terrific family and work vehicle.
Ford has now introduced its all-new third-generation F-150 Raptor with enhanced connected technology as well as new mechanical and technology innovations. Leading these innovations include completely redesigned running gear with an all-new five-link rear suspicion developed just for the Raptor. It delivers more control and power to the ground, giving you greater confidence no matter how rocky the terrain is or how bad the weather. This suspension design combined with more sophisticated engine management software means it can put more torque to the rear wheels for quicker starts off the line, faster acceleration and better throttle responsiveness while simultaneously delivering comfort, stability, handling, control and traction at speed.
Also new is that the Raptor can come with either 35-inch or 37-inch tires — the largest factory-fitted to a production light-duty full-size pick-up. How cool is that?
Enough about the under-the-hood stuff. The Raptor has a new high-tech cockpit with a new standard and customizable 12-inch digital gauge close featuring a large information-on-demand area with Raptor-special graphics and animations, off-road data and turn-by-turn navigation.
The starting price for the F-150 Raptor Super Cab is $53,455 while The Super Crew Cab starts at $56,440. The Raptor has 450 horsepower with a 3.5 V6 liter engine. In the city, it gets 15 MPG while on the highway it gets 18 MPG. Towing capacity can hold up to 8,000 pounds. It will be available this summer.
