When Healers Keep Giving

How a mammoth hospital like Northside gives back

When we think of hospitals, we may not picture a happy team of employees working together to plan a community event or training for a fundraising 5k. With more than 3,600 employees, Northside Hospital is not only a place for healing, but within the four walls are friends who care deeply for their surrounding community. In this season of giving, we wanted to know more about how one of the city's larger employers contributes to making us healthy and happy, outside the hospital.

Northside Hospital’s commitment to supporting healthier patients and creating a stronger, healthier community fabric that extends beyond the hospital’s walls. That culture of stewardship is firmly established across the Northside system, where more than 3,600 employees, their families and friends, donated 28,000 hours of their time to more than 100 community service projects last year. Annual projects include area walks, runs and rides; collection drives for homeless veterans, Children’s Restoration Network, Dress for Success and other non-profits; BINGO with local seniors; and many others.

Here are some opportunities for you to jump in and help.
