People are not dumb. They can tell if you are working with someone who wants to be there and enjoys what they do,” adds Ted, who thrives in his career as a Certified Financial Planner®.
Sharing his expertise and knowledge for the past 25 years, Ted says his passion for helping people achieve their financial goals is rooted in his childhood.
“I knew what I wanted to do when I was 10 years old after watching my father go bankrupt for the second time,” shares Ted. “I learned everything I could about money and swore to myself that I would never let this happen to my life and family.”
In addition to being a Certified Financial Planner®, Ted is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, and Qualified Plan Financial Consultant® with a degree in Marketing and Minor in Finance from San Diego State University. He founded Fischer Investment Strategies in 2011 to provide a variety of financial services to clients. Here, he shares more about his business and expertise.
Q. What services does Fisher Investment Strategies offer?
A. We offer Comprehensive Financial Planning (Cashflow Management, Risk Management, Tax Planning, Investment Analysis, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning and Employer Benefits) and Investment Management, also known as Wealth Management.
Q. What have you learned about your business over the years?
A. You can only help people who want to be helped.
Q. What is the most important thing people should know about your business?
A. As a Fee-Only Fiduciary, we avoid any conflict of interest by not selling any investment(s) and/or insurance product(s). We do not receive commissions or kickbacks of any kind from anyone or any company. We work directly with the client and put their interests first. We only sell advice.
Q. Who are your typical clients?
A. We work mostly with retirees and self-employed people in our Wealth Management group. In our Retirement Plan Services group, we target “Professional Services type of companies.” We also work with employers that are looking for optimal plan design and excellent investment.
Q. What do your customers like most about your services?
A. Clients like several aspects about Fisher Investment Strategies, including the personal relationship, competitive pricing, evidence-based investment philosophy and peace of mind they get from taking control of their finances.
Q. How does Fisher Investment Strategies stand apart from others?
A. We try to create a personal relationship with all of our clients built on communication, transparency, reliability and trust. We like our clients to refer to us as their “trusted” family CFO. I am not afraid to give away my personal time to the client by meeting, educating and helping them achieve their financial goals.

A. We blog an investment strategy every week and send out a newsletter based on current events every month.
Q. What future business goals and plans does Fisher Investment Strategies have?
A. We plan to launch our Retirement Services website (FISRS.com) shortly, and next year we plan to offer a Robo-Advisor site for our younger and smaller clients.
