Tristan Cusick Photographer

content and social media development company

(1) How old were you when you decided you loved photography and wanted to pursue it as a career?

I started playing around with a camera the summer after my sophomore year of college. I was living in my college town working at a church where I could only put in 20 hours a week. I got bored really quickly so I got my mom to let me borrow the camera she took photos of me playing high school football with and the rest is history. When I get into something, I go ALL in.

(2) You met your now wife in college and she is from Mount Juliet, what is her favorite thing about Mount Juliet?

Easy answer, the people. Megan went to Wilson Central and the friends she made there are still a massive part of our lives today. Shoot, even her maid of honor in our wedding was a friend she met at Wilson Central! We love Mount Juliet and can absolutely see ourselves settling down in such a beautiful and inclusive community one day.

(3) Tell me about the transition with your business to a full media company? When did you start shooting artists?

Cusick Media has been an idea in my head for a long time. I always knew that I wanted to create something that others can be a part of, rather than being a solo freelancer for my entire career. Now, as my business is continuing to develop, we are growing our team and expanding to focus our attention on the needs of Nashville businesses rather than solely focusing on serving the music industry. And when It comes to working for artists, I started with Dylan back in 2017 and then was incredibly blessed with some amazing relationships that opened the door to working with Mitchell Tenpenny, Maddie & Tae, Rodney Atkins, and some other incredibly talented individuals and record labels. Directing and leading some incredible crews, I believe, has given me the tools I need to begin developing content for businesses across the board within the Nashville community and beyond. Taking controlled steps forward has allowed me to learn how to care for clients, deliver content efficiently and strategically create tailored content that builds a brand for the individual client. Cusick Media will serve as a content and social media development company.

(4) What has been your favorite thing about being a photographer and doing it for a living?

I’ve got two answers to this. First, the memories I have been able to capture some of the biggest moments in individuals and organizations bring me so much joy. Second, I have been able to see tangible growth for client’s brands and companies by delivering content. Seeing their sales grow from some content I create is an incredible feeling.
