Tap Into Fun

They Drive So Others Can Drink

Sean and Kay Bowser were looking for an interesting side gig, and being fans of craft beer, they found it in Tap Truck Nashville. Launched in March 2020 with one truck, they now have three vehicles and have expanded into Chattanooga and Knoxville.

“We have cool-looking trucks with beer taps on them,” says Sean. “They’re incredibly versatile as to where they can go and where they can park. We’ve actually built out the system to accommodate wine, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.”

So far, they’ve taken their trucks to birthday parties, baby showers, corporate events, and of course, weddings. Although there is a 2-hour minimum, they’ve handled a varied number of guests.

“We have served up to 350 people at weddings, and we’ve also done as few as two,” he says. “That was for an anniversary party for [athletes] Shawn Johnson and Andrew East. It was just the two of them at their home.”

Sean has been full-time military with the U.S. Air Force for 18 years, and Kay is a stay-at-home mom of four children. They say Tap Truck is a fun transition into their next chapter.

“I love the people we get to meet,” says Kay. “Although every event is different, I feel like we walk away with some sort of relationship. I love getting out, meeting people and connecting.”

Regarding the service radius, Tap Truck basically will go as far as a distance as people pay them to go, laughs Sean. “All of our trucks are drivable for long distances. We’re covering a pretty healthy territory and having a great time doing it.”
