Bespoke Living

Home by Randolph Design + Build Has All the Bells and Whistles

What spells luxury to you in a home? Smart home technology? State-of-the-art kitchen appliances? Beamed ceilings and custom drawers and cabinets? How about a wet bar with wine refrigeration or a master bath that offers a spa-like experience?

Tucked in the rolling hills of east Edmond is a home that offers all that—and so much more. The 4,087-square-foot, four-bed, four-bath home, located in Edmond’s The Falls addition, was a collaborative effort between Gary Randolph, Trish Randolph and Ashley Randolph-McAllister of Randolph Design + Build (RandolphDB.com).

This modern, open-concept house evokes many of the tenants of hygge—a Danish philosophy of living well that focuses on atmosphere, the ability to be focused in the now, pleasure, gratitude, comfort and togetherness.

“When thinking about hygge design and lifestyle, we have a deep belief that it is important for our clients to feel at home in their home,” said Ashley Randolph-McAllister, master builder apprentice. “A notable example is the Laurel Woods, Sherwin William paint selection for the kitchen, which gives off a feeling of tranquility and elegance.”

This sense of hygge begins at the entryway to the home, where an 8-foot modern pivot door welcomes family and guests to soaring, beamed ceilings and oversized, energy-efficient windows that cast sunlight throughout every inch of space, and continues inside with open floor plans that encourage entertaining.

But the designers took a lesson from the recent past and created spaces for privacy as well.

“We all learned during the pandemic that open floor plans can be hard if the whole family is trying to educate and work from home; therefore, Randolph Design + Build has taken this into consideration with the floor plan on this home,” said Gary Randolph, master builder.

So, for example, the designers gave the in-home office double glass doors. Even when closed, the glass keeps the office from feeling claustrophobic.

A crafting and workspace center island is located in the laundry room, offering a space for kids and parents to work together on projects without compromising the clean lines of the main living spaces. The home features two separate indoor living spaces, with a grand stone fireplace lined with wide, custom bookshelves in the living room located adjacent to the grand dining hall and kitchen. This home-with-it-all also features a bonus living space and a large, covered patio for the family to enjoy time outside and lend the home to take in the creation of nature around them.

As noted above, this Randolph Design + Build home doesn’t skimp on the details, which include custom oak, soft-close drawers and cabinets adorned with designer hardware and accented with a Laurel Woods appliance wall. A massive marble-topped island, striking fixtures, a five-burner Bertazzoni gas range and side-by-side, full-size refrigeration station form the basis of a remarkable kitchen, while off the dining hall is tucked a wet bar/coffee station with wine refrigeration.

A spacious primary suite offers the homeowner a spa-like experience complete with a free-standing soaking tub, walk-in shower and a European-inspired, wall-to-wall armoire.

Other noteworthy amenities found in this home include a three-car garage, LED lighting, an energy-efficient air system and state-of-the-art security. Outdoors, the private 0.70-acre lot features a large covered back patio with a gas fire pit.

Indoors and out, this Randolph Design + Build home offers all the amenities one could wish for as well as comfortable spaces both for entertaining and work/study.

“It is a gratifying process to work together as a family. We are able to organically see necessities and find ways to problem solve in the homes we build. Every home is one-of-a-kind, as we are constantly learning how to hone our craft of designing and building to create a quality, harmonious home,” Ashley said. “We do not just build houses; we build homes.”

This spectacular Randolph Design + Build home, located at 14500 Cumberland Falls Drive in Edmond’s The Falls addition, is available for sale (asking price: $1,109,778).
