Arts & Learning Conservatory

Arts & Learning Conservatory is dedicated to bringing high-quality, accessible, and equitable performing arts to children throughout Southern California.

Founder and CEO Debora Wondercheck created the conservatory in 2004 to provide a safe space of growth and belonging for children through artistic expression. The nonprofit serves more than 1,200 students each year and partners with 40 schools in ten districts across the region bringing instrumental music and theatre classes to students. Wondercheck and her staff have orchestrated over 60 professional-grade productions.

At the onset of the pandemic, Arts & Learning Conservatory created community partnerships bringing the arts to more students than ever before.  Collaborations with the YMCA and Boys & Girls Clubs of OC provided arts education to children of first-responders and other students who would not otherwise have access. Arts & Learning also began offering free Master Classes with guest instructors including global musicians and Broadway performers - providing high-quality resources for all aspiring artists.

Auditions for their next production of Matilda are scheduled for August 19 and 20 while in-person classes return this fall.
