Best Picnic Spots

Who doesn’t love a good picnic? There’s something so nostalgic about packing your favorite foods and beverages in a cooler or basket and enjoying them while spread out on a blanket outdoors. While the backyard is a great setting for picnics, our community has plenty of idyllic spots for families to set up their spread for the day. These picnic spots offer something for everyone, whether you’re looking for a scenic view, a dog-friendly park or a romantic spot with some privacy.

    Kraft Azalea Garden


    Dotted with giant cypress trees Kraft Azalea Garden, offers plenty of open space, benches, and areas sit on a blanket and enjoy the view.

    This garden has lots of history and beautiful views. Most of the plants were planted by Polasek, an artist, and his family. Admission is $5.

    Lake Lily Park is named from the sparkling lake in the center, with lily pads and teeming with turtles, fish, and ducks.

     The oak tree canopy is one of the natural beauties of this park, along with the Rose Garden on the southern side of the park.

    You can find Spanish moss dripping from most of the trees on campus. You can even enjoy the view of Lake Virginia.

    It consists of a beautiful garden, a tall Singing Tower with its carillon bells, Pine Ridge Trail, Pinewood Estate, and a visitor center.

    This 1.56-acre year-round park is open from 8 a.m. until dusk and offers a fishing pier and boat ramp to our community. Swimming is permitted.
