Looking for a light and different beverage to celebrate Mother's Day this year? This one's also colorful. Because this recipe includes ginger ale, it has a fresh, sparkling element. To save time, prep the recipe, leaving the ginger ale out, until ready to serve. Top the pitcher off with ginger ale and share bubbly sangria in a jiffy.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 cups/750 milliliters dry white wine (1 bottle Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Riesling)
- 2 cups ginger ale
- 2 ounces cognac
- 1 lime cut into slices
- 1/2 pineapple, cut into small wedges with skin removed
- 1 cup strawberries roughly chopped; can use berry medley or peaches, apricots, apples, kiwis, raspberries, oranges, lemons
- 1/4 cup lime cordial
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups ice
- Can garnish with loosely packed fresh mint or basil leaves
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients into a large punch bowl or pitcher; stir ice into pitcher or add ice individually in serving glasses. Experiment with different liqueurs and different fruit, depending on the season.
