A Feast for the Senses

Layer textures and colors for a warm, inviting holiday tablescape

As we enter into the holiday season, we are excited to share some tips for making your dining table the perfect spot for gathering with great company and enjoying delicious food.

Begin with a versatile woven table runner, and layer plates to add color. We balanced warm and neutral tones in each place setting. Simple patterned napkins rest nicely on the dishes. Glassware encased in woven seagrass brings an organic, textural element to the table and is complemented by the rich wood tones of the serving boards and trays. A cluster of color-blocked candles in bold geometric shapes adds visual interest without distracting from the floral arrangements or dishware. For a touch of elegance, we finished off the presentation with metallic accents and tied the place settings to the centerpiece by tucking sprigs of delicate small flowers into the gold napkin rings. Plush throws were placed on our clients’ existing dining chairs for additional comfort.

The use of natural materials and varied textures adds depth to the table and creates a warm feeling that will foster the sharing of good food and lively conversation with friends and family.

Of course, the colors and textures used in this tablescape don’t have to be limited to the holidays. Warm tones and cozy textiles can be used year-round. Layering what you already have at home with a few new items is a cost-effective and fun way to change your space without breaking the bank.
