Local realtor Linda Trevor has been at the real estate game for the past two decades. She moved to the Triangle from upstate New York in 1998 and quickly acquired her real estate license. Linda’s been with RE/MAX United since day one and now has a team of her own.

As Triangle homes continue to be valuable real estate, Linda shares some of her top luxury real estate trends.

What’s Hot in Homes

Large kitchens and entertaining spaces continue to be popular, along with high-tech media like wireless speakers and security systems, top-of-the-line appliances, quartz countertops, wide-plank wood floors and textured wallpaper accent walls.

Look Outside

Outdoor living spaces, pools complete with pool houses, eco-friendly solar panels and meticulous landscapes are highly coveted features in luxury homes.

Look for Experience

Homebuyers in the luxury home market should always work with an experienced agent who can help them decide what can and cannot be changed about a property. For example, location and yard size are permanent, while anything cosmetic can be customized and improved.

Plan Ahead

For sellers, Linda recommends planning as far ahead as possible when choosing to put their house on the market. Consult with a seasoned realtor who can advise which projects should be tackled before listing. Making certain improvements in advance can help a home sell faster, and for top dollar, so updating old trends is a must.
