ONE CARDINAL WAY BRINGS LUXURY LIVING AND PANORAMIC VIEWS TO DOWNTOWN

Residents living at the new 29-story residential tower next to Ballpark Village will not need tickets to a baseball game.

Imagine watching Cardinal baseball from a personal apartment window, an open terrace or even a swimming pool. That's what residents of One Cardinal Way, 601 Clark Ave., will enjoy as part of their experience in this new, 29-story building rising in downtown St. Louis, next to Ballpark Village and across the street from Busch Stadium.

As part of Ballpark Village--a mixed-use retail, entertainment, office and residential district developed by the Cordish Companies in partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals--the residential tower is scheduled to open for residents the first part of August.

These luxury apartments will introduce a new lifestyle to downtown, adding to the regional renaissance. The building features one- and two-bedroom apartments, plus 16 penthouses, all with floor-to-ceiling windows offering magnificent views of not only Busch Stadium, but the St. Louis skyline, the Arch, the Mississippi River and all that lies to the West.

The one-bedroom apartments start at 571 square feet, the two bedrooms at 1,200 square feet and the penthouses at 1,500 square feet. Apartments feature luxury vinyl tile with carpeting in some bedrooms.

“We left the concrete ceilings open exposing the ductwork, so everything is roomy and bright,” says Marnie Sauls, sales director.

“We call the eighth floor our entertainment floor,” Marnie says. “You have a conference area with computers, and a demonstration kitchen where we have three or four events a month.”

The eighth floor includes a full-service fitness center and party room, which can be rented for private events. It also has cozy nooks with fireplaces for relaxing, livestreaming televisions and a full-service bar.

The outside terrace features the indoor/outdoor bar and infinity pool where residents can watch the game either from the pool, or they can choose to sit on the oversized, turf-covered stairs. Because barbecue and baseball go together, grills and picnic tables are available for outdoor cooking–pork steaks, no doubt.

“The top two floors feature penthouse apartments with gracious floor plans and upgraded appliances, fixtures and finishes. Living in the higher floors has its privileges, like higher ceilings and a private roof top terrace reserved for residents of the 27th floor and above," Marnie says.

She adds that the apartments were designed to use every inch of space, and the building configuration allows views from all four directions.

The main lobby will be staffed 24 hours a day, and residents can access their storage area and package delivery room anytime. The restaurant, Salt and Smoke, will be located on-site along with some retail stores. Indoor, secure parking is on floors two through seven.

Marnie says 60 percent of the apartments are rented, and the company is hosting “get acquainted” parties for residents. “We want to connect the residents. We have retirees, empty nesters, Gen-Xers and some families, and many of them have already met.”

Mike LaMartina, Cordish chief revenue officer, says One Cardinal Way takes the next step in continuing to evolve the downtown landscape. “We’re going from an entertainment-focused property in Ballpark Village to a fully living, breathing neighborhood,” he says.

“The goal of the partnership between the Cordish company and the Cardinals is to inject foot traffic, urban development and a neighborhood aspect into our specific area,” he says.

“Everything going on around us from the aquarium to the improvements at Enterprise Center to the coming MLS stadium–all of our goals remain the same, and that is to drive density downtown, to drive activity and make sure we’re providing amenities, assets and entertainment across the board for all types of people. At the end of the day, that fuels the downtown development scene while also providing a regionally significant area where people can come to from all over,” Mike reflects.

Besides the panoramic views, residents will enjoy:
