Summer Activities for Families

With the kids out of school for the summer, this season is the perfect time to make memories together as a family. Luckily, our community offers lots of activities for families to enjoy! A thrilling day at the theme park, a visit to the art museum, a night out at a family-friendly concert or local sports game are just some of the many fun things to do together. Whether your kids are big or little, our community has something for families of all kinds.

    Bluebird Park


    Bluebird Park:  Explore tennis lessons, swimming lessons, chalkfest, family bingo, T-Ball or Tiny Tot Soccer. Catch the Ellisville Market or concerts in the park.

    BounceU of Chesterfield:  Youths (and big kids at heart) have funormous good times jumping on inflatables. Ask about "Create & Bounce Camp" for summer break.

    St. Louis Carousel:  In one of St. Louis County's most unique parks, also including home of Missouri's second governor, historic village, playground and hiking.

    Field House Museum:  A fascinating museum, looking at the life, work and times of children's poet Eugene Field, all set in his childhood home.

  5. Emerson Dinoroarus Exhibit


    Emerson Dinoroarus Exhibit:  Situated in former Children’s Zoo, the exhibit allows visitors to stroll among animatronic creatures and learn about extinction and dinosaurs’ feathered descendants.

    Enjoy entertainment under the stars at The Muny at Forest Park. There are shows the whole family will love!

  7. Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary

    See the big cats at Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary, a nonprofit rescue and educational facility that provides lifelong care for abused, neglected or unwanted tigers.

  8. World Bird Sanctuary

    World Bird Sanctuary features public buildings for viewing bird species from around the world, as well as 305 acres of forest with five hiking trails.

  9. YMCA Trout Lodge

    YMCA Trout Lodge is a nonprofit resort loaded with amenities and activities right on site, nestled in gently rolling forest-covered hills beside a beautiful lake.

    Nature Playscape in Forest Park

    The new Nature Playscape in Forest Park encourages visitors to connect to nature and explore with their senses, over 17 acres of paths and boardwalks.

    The Lewis & Clark Boathouse & Nature Center


    The Lewis & Clark Boathouse & Nature Center is an interactive museum that brings to life the 1803-06 journey of Lewis & Clark.

    Walk or bike through the scenic 240-mile Katy Trail, much of it following the Missouri River. The St. Charles Trailhead in in Frontier Park.

    The Foundry Art Centre features international exhibitions, local art studios/galleries, classes and events. All exhibitions are free and open to the public.
