This is exactly what CareFree Boat Club, a membership luxury boating experience, aims to solve. Bellevue couple Justin and Oxana Wolff founded the club in 2015. The duo started as members of the North Carolina CareFree club in Charlotte, and after a few years of enjoying unprecedented boating and good times on Lake Norman, Justin and Oxana realized that the expense, financial risk and time commitment for boat ownership can stop most people from getting out on the water. With the couple’s passion for boating and finding modern business solutions to help people find more enjoyment in life, they decided to found CareFree Boat Club Seattle. Starting with just four boats and two locations, they have expanded their fleet to 30 boats and six locations in four years, including central Fishermen's Terminal near Lake Union, Bellevue and Kirkland on the Eastside of Lake Washington, Shilshole Bay Marina and Bellingham in the San Juan Islands.
CareFree Boating is essentially a country club for boaters. Simply book your boat of choice online. Upon arriving at the dock, you will be greeted by a CareFree staff member with a clean boat that is warmed up and ready to go. When you return it to the dock, you simply walk away. Memberships include training, boat safety instruction, on-the-water assistance, guidance from the staff of US Coast Guard-certified boat captains, members-only socials and a variety of other social activities throughout the year.
If you or your family travels, an extra perk as a member is unlimited boating from more than 70 locations nationwide. Choose from a wide variety of boats to explore waters ranging from freshwater lakes to saltwater oceans and the islands. Surfing, fishing, crabbing or overnighting is made easy in a boat that best fits your occasion.
So what are the crowd favorites? Ranger Tugs, immediately recognizable for their old school “tug” exterior, are a great start. These versatile boats are thoroughly modern and luxuriously appointed throughout the entire cabin. Innovative features bring in lots of light for an open, airy feel so you can take full advantage of the beautiful summers.
Next on the list is a pontoon boat. Perfect for a leisurely day on the water, these boats are spacious and comfortable but also have the ability to hit speeds upwards of 50 mph. The Manitou SES Bar model comes equipped with a wrap-around bar including barstool seating for four and a huge reclining sun pad.
For those wanting performance, style and monster waves, the Monterey 238 SURF delivers a world-class surf wake with Zero Off GPS speed control, a high-volume ballast system, Wake WorX surf tabs and Volvo Penta Forward Drive. Lastly, for a family favorite, reserve the Avalon Funship with a double-decker platform and a fully functioning water slide. This boat was added to the fleet last year and was an instant hit. This year CareFree Seattle is adding three new Funships to the Seattle, Bellevue and Kirkland locations.
