I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly! This thing gives me the butterflies! Ok, so my best friend is pregnant and she’s craving cheeseburgers like crazy. So I thought I’d create for her a fun, sloppy, lil big thing of glory, cheeseburger with a bit of a kick. (Get it?) Mama and baby are both gonna love this and so will you! We’ve getchur juicy ground brisket patties, melty cheddar cheese, flash fried onion straws, a lil lettuce and mayo with the special guest ingredient of the day... strawberry-jalapeño jam, all on the sexiest brioche bun.

I considered making my own jam, I have so many ideas for flavors. But then I realized how much time and effort goes into that. This is a burger, people! It’s should be simple, right? So, I googled strawberry-jalapeño jam and found some on amazon made by @NewportJerky and fell in love! This would even be great on a kind of “adult” PB+J, atop cream cheese with crackers or warm Brie, maybe even as a glaze for grilled chicken? I can’t wait to play with it more!

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
  • S+P
  • 1 T canola oil
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 C fried onion straws
  • Strawberry-jalapeno jam (found on amazon.com)
  • Lettuce
  • Mayonnaise

Heat the oil in the pan over high heat until. Cook burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the first side, about 3 minutes. Flip over the burgers. Cook beef burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the second side, 4 minutes for medium rare or until cooked to desired degree of doneness.

Add the cheese, to the tops of the burgers during the last minute of cooking and top with a basting cover. Add burgers to the toasted buns and finish with the toppings.
