One of the best ways to experience a different culture is through its unique food and beverages. Japanese dishes and drinks are rich in history — not to mention taste — with traditions that dive deep into how they are prepared, presented and consumed. These three online cooking classes teach the art of sake, tea and mochi to bring the flavors of Japan into your own kitchen.

Sake Secrets from Japan's Oldest Brewery

"First, we kanpai, Japanese cheers, with sake if you have some. If not, make sure you have some kind of drink in your hand when we start. Then I will introduce you to the origins of sake (hint, hint, it involves drunk shamanism). I'll share how sake is made and the differences between wine and sake. Finally we'll learn how to drink sake like a pro with a Q&A."

Tips to Brew Delicious Japanese Tea by Tea Master

"We'll start off by introducing ourselves, our background and why we started the tea experience. We'll show you the tea utensils and tea leaves that we normally use, explaining the difference between Japanese tea and other teas. Next we'll demonstrate the several secret technique to brew delicious tea, followed by an introduction to a Japanese tea arrangement. You don't have to make any special preparations, but if you wish, you can bring your usual tea ware and tea and brew tea together!"

The Art of Making Japanese Mochi
