Page 1: On Saturday evening of the Upperville Colt and Horse Show, young riders often experience their first ever "competition" at Upperville, the "Leadline" class for ages 1-3 and then ages 4-6. Joe Fargis, UCHS board chair and jumping legend, judged the event, which was a great honor indeed. Still, by the end, nearly everyone needed a long nap... or a bourbon.

Page 2: Home girl Allison Robitaille came in just 2 seconds behind the winner of the Sunday $213,300 FEI 4*Classic, surpassed by Jordan Coyle of Ireland. She brought her daughter Zoe to the press conference where we learned she will be starting to ride next month. McLain Ward rode, "HH Azur" owned by Double H Farm in Classic.  He had an unfortunate rail down-4 faults, but is still headed to compete in Tokyo with the U.S. Olympic Jumping Team. Elizabeth Courts, the great, great granddaughter of Richard Henry Delaney, who founded the Upperville show in 1853 to urge better treatment of horses, hands out trophies to winning thoroughbreds, brood mares, colts and foals.
