Put simply, this business has blossomed. Since relocating their Loveland Madeira Rd store to the former Casual Pint location in historic Loveland, Fleurish owners Debra and Doug Campbell have loved being in “the heart of it all.”

If you’ve never been to Fleurish, don’t worry—you’ll be obsessed soon. What originally began as a paint-based biz for Debra has grown into one of the hottest destinations for distinctive gifts, home decor, clothing, kitchenware, pet products, children’s toys, themed-items, jewelry, accessories and more.

“Prior to opening this store, I ran my own paint-contracting business,” says Debra, whose background is fashion merchandising. “I taught people how to paint furniture, and had a studio for a handful of years as a side business to my faux-finishing work.”

“In 2010, I learned about a line of furniture paint that I started selling—and the demand for that really grew,” Debra explains. “Then people started to ask, ‘What else do you have?’ so we opened the first Fleurish store in Springboro in 2013.”

That same year, Doug left his job to help build that store—then their Loveland-Madeira location opened in 2015, plus another in Hamilton in 2017.

“We started as a pure home decor store to complement our paint products—but our customers kept telling us we were a great place to get gifts, so we would add more and more items,” Debra recalls.

It wasn’t long before the couple realized their true mission: to spread joy and happiness.

“The name ‘Fleurish’ comes from wanting our customers to ‘flourish’ … one of the things that came out of the pandemic is that people have really started to realize that just existing isn’t enough—that it’s those positive, little things that make you happy, that help you exist to make a full life,” Debra smiles. “So considering our goal, we’ve become a full lifestyle store with a little bit of everything.”

“I hunt everywhere—I go to a lot of wholesale markets but also look for small companies and independent designers. We try to find a balance of really unique items.”

Occupying a former taproom location has not been without its perks—Fleurish has a beer and wine license, and plans to serve adult beverages including local craft brews alongside sodas, teas and small bites. The store’s inside can seat 30 guests while another 20 can relax out on the patio. This lounge side of Fleurish should open later this spring, as construction is almost complete, with tables and chairs arriving daily—plus, art tutorials are in the works for fall.

“With our move to Loveland, we’re becoming not just a store but a gathering space as well,” Debra says. “A lot of customers tell us we’re their ‘happy place’ ... so being a place where people can come hang out, have a glass of wine with friends, host a baby shower or just enjoy each other’s company? That’s exciting.”
