A Fun-filled Weekend

Saturdays are for ‘Concerts on Broadway,’ What better way to spend your weekend?

Get ready for delightful weekends filled with music, laughter, and a vibrant atmosphere! Every year, the City of Meridian hosts Concerts on Broadway, a series of community concerts that take place in the heart of Old Town Meridian. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes and a welcoming ambiance, these concerts are a beloved tradition for families and the local community alike. If you haven't experienced them yet, now is the perfect time to join in on the fun.

Picture yourself enjoying a well-deserved weekend, basking in the warmth of the summer breeze while immersing yourself in lively music. Central Old Town Meridian is an ideal location for these events, with its well-kept open areas, charming shops, restaurants, and historical sites. As the music fills the air, you'll find yourself swept away, dancing and singing along, leaving your worries behind, even if just for a little while. These concerts offer an enchanting experience for anyone, whether you're attending alone, with a loved one, or spontaneously deciding to go.

The best part? It won't cost you a dime. That's right – the Concerts on Broadway are entirely free! The City of Meridian has arranged three Saturdays of non-stop entertainment, starting on August 26. Mark your calendars and head down to the outdoor plaza at Meridian City Hall, where the festivities will kick off at 7:00 PM.

The opening event will feature Guilty Pleasure, treating you to their eclectic blend of hip music that will undoubtedly get you moving to the beat. On September 9, the Kings of Swing will take the stage, serenading you with their exceptional jazz tunes. And to top it all off, on September 23, the Summer Groove Party Band (formerly known as "High Street") will deliver an unforgettable performance of R&B, funk, and country music. No matter your musical preferences, these concerts promise an enjoyable evening for everyone.

Feel free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy during the shows. If you fancy an alcoholic drink, Loose Screw Beer will be served within the concert site, and there will be food service trucks available as well. While the plaza's built-in amphitheater offers seating, you're encouraged to bring folding chairs and picnic mats for your comfort. Information: MeridianCity.org/ConcertsOnBroadway.
