Empowering Confidence

Breaking the Stigma of Facial Aesthetics

Courtney Deavers, a nurse practitioner and owner of the new boutique med spa Face Alchemy, holds firm to the belief that confidence is the cornerstone of success in all spheres of life. Her heartfelt mission is to uplift individuals by nurturing the self-assurance they rightfully deserve.

Deavers’ medical journey began as a firefighter paramedic for Las Vegas Fire and Rescue. While working for the department, she graduated from nursing school and eventually went on to complete her master’s degree, obtaining her family nurse practitioner certification. Inspired by an acquaintance's involvement in aesthetics, she trained under a plastic surgeon and fell in love with being an aesthetic injector.

Relocating to Texas in 2019 with her husband and three children, Deavers balanced work in the emergency room during the coronavirus pandemic with telehealth appointments to prioritize family time. With her children soon entering preschool, she saw an opportunity to reenter the aesthetics field.

Despite varying opinions on facial aesthetics, as of 2023 the number of people receiving treatments is at an all-time high. This begs the question: Why the hesitancy?

According to Deavers, many first-time consultees express fear of looking unnatural or unlike themselves when considering injectables such as Botox or filler. Poorly executed treatments, resulting in overly plumped lips or exaggerated features, contribute to a negative perception of injectables. Deavers believes lax regulations, as well as lack of training and artistic skill among practitioners, have led to such outcomes and tarnished the industry's reputation.

Motivated by the negative stigma surrounding the industry, Deavers aimed to change that by offering conservative aesthetic treatments at her private practice in Dripping Springs.

“After your procedure you should still look like the beautiful person you were born to be,” she says. No one wants to see old friends and have them stand in shock trying to figure out if you’re the same person that signed their yearbook. That is far from the end goal. Natural beauty, elevated, is the end goal.”

Face Alchemy aims to provide a trustworthy space for conservative aesthetic enhancements, reflecting Deavers’ personal approach and values. She looks forward to contributing to the Dripping Springs community by fostering confidence and self-assurance.
