"May you approach each new morning with Gratitude for another day and the new beginnings that are calling you"

With a sincere heart, I extend my immeasurable gratitude to the Broomfield community, my community and home. You extended your love and support to me and my family holding us up when we needed it most.

The tragic loss of Tom was felt so deeply by so many but none as crushing as the loss to our family.  We are healing and learning to live our days without him knowing he is still very much a part of our everyday life and still a part of this community which he helped mold and keep safe.

I cannot recall where the quote above crossed my path, but it remains part of my message to myself daily as I move forward. It gives me strength and courage and my hope is that it provides that to you.

Thank you Broomfield!  You are my home!

Broomfield Enterprise – February 2, 2022 “Our hearts are broken at the police department and across the city and county today as we work to process this loss,” said current Chief of Police, Enea Hempelmann. “Chief Deland’s leadership impacted me personally, and so many of us, and his legacy will remain deeply rooted in our department for years to come.”
