Investing in Community

Greg Long, trusted financial advisor, focuses on helping Mt. Juliet families live life fulfilled.

Whether you are looking for tips on nutrition, health, or finances, there’s a lot of information to navigate, which can be overwhelming. Each person has unique circumstances that may not easily fit into predefined boxes. When it comes to money matters, Greg Long knows how important it is to have a knowledgeable advisor who can tailor a plan to your specific needs and goals.

Greg Long has been with Edward Jones for 13 years and recounts one of his most memorable encounters with a man nearing age 60 whose employer of 30 years had sold the company. When he arrived with his wife for their meeting, his stress was palpable. This hard-working individual assumed he’d need to continue working until age 67, but Greg was able to offer options for retiring immediately and fondly recalls the relief on the client’s face.

Greg has always been passionate about helping the Mt. Juliet community achieve financial independence in numerous ways. He enjoys supporting residents through his work with the Rotary which gifts $100 to every new teacher in Wilson County and hosts other relationship-building events. He also appreciates the company culture with Edward Jones by giving back through volunteer efforts and fundraisers including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Nissan Stadium. This disease tries to steal everything Greg hopes to help people achieve: purpose, relationships, and retirement.

In recent years, there has been a shift in financial planning. While saving for retirement is certainly important, Greg hopes to continue helping people live a fulfilling life along the way. One key to his approach is targeted questions that aim to guide families toward discovering their priorities. Because his ultimate goal is for individuals to approach life with courage and joy rather than fear and obligation.

While the investment industry is driven by clickbait headlines, worry, and anxiety, Greg Long helps his clients operate from a place of tranquility and peace with their finances. Step one is having a good understanding of where you are. The next step is a customized plan that considers your personal needs and wants. Having a trusted coach who can assist you with both is life-changing.

"There are three fundamental truths of investing. One, downturns happen. Two, upturns always follow downturns. Three, upturns last significantly longer than downturns." – Greg Long
