After you polish off your plate at the backyard barbecue, a little something sweet is in order. Sorbet is the perfect summertime dessert; it's cold and creamy, but it's not too rich and it cleanses the palate. Despite its "fancy" reputation, sorbet couldn't be easier to make at home! Here are four homemade sorbet recipes to try this summer.

Peach

Make this peach sorbet with just four simple ingredients—no ice cream maker required. Get the recipe from Chef Not Required.

Strawberry

This strawberry sorbet recipe is from the owners of The Bent Spoon ice cream parlor in Princeton, N.J. A farm-fresh egg white can be added to preserve the sorbet's texture if you plan to keep it in the freezer for a few days.

Meyer Lemon

If you're able to find Meyer lemons where you live, you can turn them into a tart and sweet frozen treat with just four ingredients. Regular lemons will also work for this recipe from Simply Recipes.

Raspberry

Follow Paula Deen's recipe for this vibrant raspberry sorbet. She uses lime juice instead of the typical lemon juice for a brighter flavor profile.
