Stop Relying on Willpower

WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE?

I hear this a lot…

“I want to lose 50 lbs so I’m going to eat healthy... But I don’t want to’:

  • Look at calories
  • Look at macros
  • Food diary
  • Meal plan
  • Meal prep
  • Eat leftovers
  • Eat vegetables
  • Eat so much protein
  • Exercise
  • Take the time to build habits
  • Invest in accountability
  • Be more active during my day

‘“Instead I’m just going to avoid sugar, alcohol, and carbs...” (aka rely on willpower)

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

To me this is like saying: ‘I want to start my own company but you don’t want to invest any time, money, or effort to start it up’...

Could you be successful? Well, sure, by pure luck if that is such a thing. But, that is not reality.

Your probability is a lot lower relying on luck than if you put in the effort up front to learn about starting a business, hiring a business coach, researching into your business field, investing money in your business, and so on and so forth.

In a perfect world, I would love to say you can just “eat healthier” and “avoid things” and all will work itself out. Once again, could it work out? Yes, personally these statements are just likely not enough to get you there. There are so many factors that play into “eating healthier” that just the act of saying that doesn’t really mean much.

Do you have to do everything I stated above? No!

Like any goal you put your mind to... you have to be prepared, make a plan, prioritize, do something you likely never have done before, and be extremely consistent.

Weight and Fat loss is no different.

I wish I could tell you there was a magic pill to make you feel your best self but truly the magic pill is preparing, prioritizing, and consistency. If you are not doing these 3 things, I guarantee your results will NOT be sustainable.
