The Subaru Outback Limited XT is the perfect family car, whether it’s for road trips, camping, enjoying the great outdoors or taking the soccer team out for ice cream. The whole family and friends (two-legged and four-legged) will feel comfortable and secure in this wagon.

Subarus are almost becoming the family car of choice, and it’s easy to see why. They're roomy, comfortable, dependable and safe. What’s not to love? The Outback Limited XT features a symmetrical all-wheel drive, and the 2.4-liter turbo can get up to 33 miles per gallon combined.

The Subaru Outback models come stacked with a lot of equipment, including EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that now features Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering Function, LED headlights (low and high beam) with High Beam Assist and roof rails with tie-down points and integrated crossbars.

But for a family, the most important thing is roominess and comfort, and again, the Subaru delivers. There is a lot of cargo space in the trunk—75.7 cubic space with the 60/40 split rear seats lowered—and with a wide rear gate opening, the Outback will easily swallow up golf clubs, hockey sticks and whatever is found at a tag sale. There is a new Hands-Free Power Gate that allows you to wave in front of the logo and the rear door will open. Nifty! It also has single touch lifting cargo cover. It’s innovations such as this that will keep the Outback a family favorite.

The seats are simple to fold down, and the infotainment system was so easy that even the most technology-challenged person could figure it out without uttering even one swear word or asking for a child to help them. New this year is an in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot that provides smooth internet access via high-speed LTE™ communications, again perfect for country rides.

Speaking of seats, the Limited comes with 8-way power front passenger seats and heated rear seats. Even better, the seat heaters come with three temperatures and go all the way up to the shoulders. Heaven!

The Limited XT has some key features that only make this car closer to perfect, such as a power moonroof, heated steering wheel and a positive temperature coefficient heater for fast cabin heating.

The 2020 Subaru Outback delivers the optimal blend of SUV capability and car-like ride and handling, and our Limited XT came in at around $38,000. A lot of value in a lot of car.
