Rediscover the distinctive flavor of a Southern-born bourbon whiskey at this year’s Bourbon on the Bay, hosted by the Destin Chamber of Commerce and presented by Hand Arendall Harrison Sale. This event features a silent auction; tasting tables for bourbon, scotch, and champagne; and a wine pull.
Arrive with an appetite! The Regatta Bay Golf & Yacht Club will offer heavy hors d’oeuvres and always does an amazing job. Move on to the tasting tables hosted by BOTE, CRC Data Technologies, Destin City Lifestyle Magazine, Executive Air, Trustmark and Warren Averett. Each is a chance to experience the sweet, charred-barrel character of the most famous of all American whiskeys, bourbon. Exchange tickets for samples of your choice at the tasting tables. On arrival, you will receive a tasting guide, a glass for samples, and an allotment of tickets. Finally, The Melting Pot will serve bourbon-infused chocolate fondue.
This year’s silent auction offers too many prizes to list here. However, a few highlights to whet your appetite include a staycation at the Hilton Garden Inn - Destin/Miramar Beach; a private sunset charter for six aboard Cruisin' Tikis; and a half-page ad in Destin's newest magazine Destin City Lifestyle.
Auction items from past events have included spa services, event tickets and baskets. Elizabeth Spies, the Destin Chamber of Commerce Vice President, shared that “The most popular item is always the Barrel from the Board, full of high-end and hard-to-find bourbons, scotches and champagnes.”
