Treefort 2021, Boise Idaho—Oh Yogafort! I must admit that Yogafort always holds a special place in my heart. There is nothing like getting on your mat and moving your body and breathing life in with your community. I experience a shift in my mindset, new strength in my body and an uplifting in my spirit when I attend Yoga fort. The instructors, the music, the attendees, the energy of this fort is magic, pure magic.

This year the dance class with Celeste Bolin stole the show. She welcomed everyone in with a heart felt talk about what the last year has been like. How we have all had our struggles and doubts but she wanted to remind each and every one of us that we are NEEDED. Each one of us is unique and special and needed in our community and without us it would not be the same.

We then went into our hour-long dance class shaking everything out of us, singing along to a song at one point saying “All my bad habits, they got to go, got to go.” It was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before and I left the class drenched in sweat but with a lightness to my step. I felt a heavy weight be lifted, a cleansing of my mind, moving stagnant energy out of my body. It was everything I needed without even knowing I needed it.
If I could recommend one class to for everyone to attend next year it would be this dance class. We, especially adults, need this kind of movement and fun in our lives. A space to let it all go and to allow ourselves to move with the music.
