THE CHORE OF VACUMMING, BLAH!

Let me tell you some reasons why you should vacuum. Vacuuming your carpet, hard surfaces and furniture is one of the single most important things you can do to preserve the look and longevity. All fabrics hold dirt and they do a great job of it! Carpets and fabrics are woven tight for durability but those tiny dirt particles find their way in there, over time enough of them collect and then we can see it with the naked eye. One study performed by CRI (Carpet and Rug Institute) that up to 1lb. of dirt can be found in a single sqft. of carpet, woah! That soil is not just dirt either, it is made up of pet dander, hair, dead skin cells (humans lose 1,000,000 skin particles in 24 hours!) you get the point.

The bigger issue with dirt is that it is abrasive to carpet fibers and wear layers on hard surfaces. It acts as a sand paper to fibers, wear layers, grout lines etc. This dirt abrades the fibers and surfaces over time them leaving them dull and looking worn. So all these years you have been yelling about shoes in the house, guess what? You're right!

Regular vacuuming can remove up to 80% of the soil stuck in your carpet! I know, "I have all hard surfaces, so its not a problem in my house..." I hate to break the bad news to you but some studies show that carpet captures the dust, dirt, allergens that can end up on your furniture, bedding and curtains and worse yet in the air your family breathes!

Lets get back to vacuuming, literally. Rug experts recommend the high traffic areas be done daily and the other areas such as bedrooms at least twice a week. So vacuum regularly and have your floors cleaned professionally every 12-18 months to keep them looking great! Oh, and in case you were wondering vacuuming burns about 4 calories a minute too!

Cleaning Tip: Tracked in mud - Carefully scrape any excess with a plastic spoon working from the outer edges to the center. Let the mud dry and you have dirt again, then you guessed it vacuum it up. This may require really slow vacuum passes in both directions. If any soil remains from there, use a damp cloth and our provided bottle of neutral pH spot cleaner we leave after your cleaning. Always blot, don’t rub
