Our town’s most glamorous fundraiser of the year is just days away. Each year, The Key Event raises an average of $100,000 for the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty. Since 1999, the Community Foundation has been the primary resource for philanthropy in our townships. 100% of proceeds from The Key Event are reinvested into the community through grant awards.
Meet two board members and get a sneak peek at the looks they’ll be wearing to this extravaganza. This year, attendees are encouraged to wear 1920's-inspired black-tie attire.
Saluting the Jazz Age
Jeanne Brauns, chair of the Key Event and board member of the Community Foundation, sees the event as more than just great food from local chefs and delicious signature cocktails. “I meet a lot of people at the Key Event and get to reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in a long while,” says Jeanne. “You see people from every phase of your life. For me, it’s been people from all aspects of my time here in West Chester, from when your kids are little to now.”

Movie-Star Style
Nick Enger, board member of the Community Foundation and Director of the Hoody Memorial Fund, sees great synergy in hosting a beloved event while simultaneously funding generous Community Grants. “It’s a gathering of the influential people from all over West Chester and Liberty Townships; the event group does an awesome job. It’s really a celebration,” says Nick. “It’s all about the local community - everything that is raised is staying local. What more could you want?”
