In September of 2000, Eve Carlson and her husband opened the doors of Eve’s Revolution. What started as a consignment boutique at 1312 Colorado Avenue turned into a full retail, unique women’s apparel boutique that has been a staple of Old Colorado City for 23 years.
Eve’s Revolution is a beautiful, magical space in a remodeled historic Victorian home where women feel welcome. Twice a year, they do a consignment pop-up event to bring them back to their consignment roots. Customers say the boutique is their happy place and it’s easy to see why. From the Victorian setting (the residence was built in 1898 and purchased from owners who had lived there for over 30 years) to the inviting displays, the store gives off a cheery, casual vibe.
According to Eve, “We’ve been in business so long that we’ve cultivated these beautiful relationships with now generations of shoppers and they have these special memories.”
Since Eve is nearing retirement, she recently sold the store to Amie Bennight, the co-owner of Delilah’s next door. However, Eve is continuing to take a very active role as the founder and buyer at the boutique. Eve and Amie share a vision and love for Eve’s Revolution through their years of working together as sister boutiques and neighbors in Old Colorado City.
Amie says, “It’s such a special place to be.”
A Bohemian Chic Vibe
In addition to the delightful experience of shopping in person, the store has a strong online presence and Eve and Amie say they love sending off special packages to women shopping from around the country. The clothing is decidedly feminine, with a bohemian chic vibe. Pieces can easily be dressed up for work or an evening out or worn casually.
The inventory moves quickly and the selection is small which adds to the uniqueness of the shopping experience. Many of the staff have been around for a long time, so shoppers are greeted by familiar faces and are offered as much or as little help as they would like in selecting outfits and pieces. They love to be on-trend and carry a selection of core brands.
Lifting Women Up
Eve’s Revolution is a destination. Both Eve and Amie share a passion for lifting women up and sharing this space with others. Amie wants women to come into the shop and feel good about themselves. She loves the interaction with customers and the supportive community. Eve is committed to the beautiful space that is Eve’s Revolution and supporting the women who shop here as well as the Old Colorado City community.
Amie is determined to carry on the legacy of Eve’s Revolution. The transition has been natural for Amie and Eve.
