Mother‘s Day is almost here. It's a very special day, full of memories and feelings of love and gratitude. It’s a time to reflect and show gratitude for the mothering we have received through the ups and downs of life, whether that be the unconditional love and care of a parent, a relative, a mentor, or a friend who has shaped us into who we are. Mother’s Day speaks to the beautiful cycle of eternal love continuing from one generation to the next.
I have experienced this eternal love both from my mother and from being a mother to my children. The best gift a mother can receive is the gift of time and love. Nothing can replace those special moments spent together and the memories that they create. I cherished and now miss the hours my mom and I would spend just talking about art and life in general. My mother was an artist, and she has been one of the greatest inspirations for my art. Many of the art pieces she created for me, which are showcased in my home, commemorate her and bring back beautiful memories. For those of us whose mom is no longer with us, we can honor her on Mother's Day by sharing memories like fixing one of her favorite recipes or telling a favorite story about her.
Taking Mom out to her favorite restaurant and spending time together savoring excellent food while admiring fabulous ocean views is another great way to celebrate her special day.
