5 Homemade Spice Blends

DITCH THE ADDITIVES + SAVE MONEY

If you read the back of a spice blend packet, you'll notice lots of ingredients that are difficult to pronounce. They're often full of anti-caking agents, artificial flavors and too much sodium. There's a much more cost-effective and healthier way to season your food with these five homemade spice blends to stock your pantry with. All you have to do is mix them together in a bowl and store them in an airtight container.

Greek Seasoning

  • tablespoon dried oregano or majoram
  • tablespoon dried basil
  • 2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dill weed
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt flakes
  • 1 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoons ground thyme
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Herbs de Provence

  • 2 Tbsp. basil
  • 2 Tbsp. thyme
  • 2 Tbsp. savory
  • 2 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. marjoram
  • 2 Tbsp. rosemary
  • 2 Tbsp. fennel seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. dried lavender

Ranch Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Ras El Hanout (Moroccan Spice Blend)

  • 1 tbsp ground ginger

  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1.5 tsp turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Cajun Seasoning

  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
