Welcome to Franklin. When you get your boxes unpacked, you will want to start finding all of the fun! Franklin is such a kind and welcoming city full of families moving from all over the USA, it won’t take you long to find your people.

When my girls were little, we were frequent visitors to Pinkerton Park, neighborhood playgrounds, The Factory, Cheekwood, and The Zoo. Now that my kids are 7 and 10, some of our favorites are the same, but the list has grown. Some of our current favorites are The Zoo, Third Coast Clay, & exploring areas along the Natchez Trace just to name a few.

My favorite places to pamper myself are Prose Nail Salon and A Moment’s Peace Spa. Both of these make for a fun girls day out as well!

Now my favorite topic, food!!! First, family-friendly restaurants. It isn’t always easy to have happy kids waiting on food for too long, so finding the perfect mix is key. I have found the atmosphere at Front St. Tavern, Scouts Pub, Mellow Mushroom, Mojo Tacos, Americana Taphouse, & Bunganut Pig. For a fun girls night or date night I love Gray’s, Red Pony, 55 South, Cork and Cow, 1799, JJ’s Wine Bar, Honeysuckle, and Wild Ginger.

As awesome as Franklin is, sometimes you just need to “get out of town.” I have found some awesome day trips close to Franklin. My girlfriends and I are frequent visitors to Columbia, which is the sweetest little town just 40 minutes away. One of my favorite parts of Columbia is getting there via Carters Creek Pike, which is the most beautiful country drive. Downtown Columbia has really grown in the past few years & gets better every time I visit. My favorite restaurant there is The Dotted Lime, it is the locals spot that I luckily happened to find on one visit! Murfreesboro is next on my list. I went with several friends for my last birthday. We spent the day shopping at The Avenue and in the adorable downtown. I loved discovering the store Palmetto Moon & a few local businesses in the downtown square. If you can consider Green Hills a day trip (I do), head over to Restoration Hardware Café for lunch or dinner, it is absolutely dreamy! I love taking friends there for special occasions. After that, head over to Green Hills Mall. The Hill Center is close to the mall & also a great area to shop.

I hope my tips help you feel at home! Feel free to reach out to me. I would love to help you find your place in your new city!
