Pregnancy and Chiropractic Care
During pregnancy, many physical changes will impact your posture and spine. Chiropractic adjustments can help ease those discomforts and help with an easier pregnancy. Women who have chiropractic care during their pregnancies typically have fewer musculoskeletal complaints, reduced labor times, less need for medication or intervention, and are less likely to tear.
Safety First
Dr. Gary Shoemaker and Dr. Alex Jeffrey are licensed chiropractors who have received training related to pregnancy and have helped pregnant women pre and post-delivery. Dr. Alex is also certified by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP) through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. He has a 200-hour certification in pre and post-natal care for both mothers and children. This certification helped give Dr. Alex additional diagnostic and adjusting skills since typical care methods cannot always be used with new mothers and children.
Our chiropractors use cushions and adjustment tables to accommodate the mother's growing belly. They use very gentle techniques that do not put pressure on the abdomen to keep the baby safe and comfortable.
