We all have heard of Roscoes Chicken and Waffles, but Chicken and Donuts is something a little different and EXPONENTIALLY more delicious. Brown Sugar Chicken & Donuts, just had their soft opening in December and they have been rocking and rolling ever since. Their unique combination of sweet and savory has all of their guests coming back for more.
I was able to be a part of the soft opening with my little guy and I cannot lie when I say he asked for three of their freshly baked chocolate donuts.
Located in Kansas City, KS just off State Ave., you'll find the quaint sister/brother restaurant that has grown to be a local favorite in just a month's time. According to Feast Magazine they are one of the lucky restaurants to be crowned with some of the best mac n' cheese in the city.
Founders Asiyah and Jamal Lites had the creative idea in mid-2019 and ran with it. Now with items like Wyandotte Fries (loaded fries with beef, tomatoes, sour cream, queso, salsa, and cilantro), the Chicken & Donut Breakfast Sandwich (crispy fried chicken breast with egg and bacon inside a warm donut) and their signature Chicken Sandwich (crispy fried chicken breast, spicy slaw, house pickle on a brioche bun) it's easy to find your new fave.
My personal favorite dish is the lunch combo with a glazed donut and the BROWN SUGAR BLAZIN' sauce. Its like a sweet and spicy salsa and it goes so well with their golden brown, flavorful wings!
